Well, I might be a bit biased, but the obvious answer here is yes. If the title of this actually hit you as anything but a leading question, then there are some self-limiting beliefs around this whole herpes thing that just aren’t being fair to you in your life.

And the sad part is, this seems to be the norm rather than the exception. So you’re not alone, but instead of being all together on the side of being ashamed about herpes, I’d like us to be all together on the side that isn’t bothered by it in the slightest.

Now keep in mind that this doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t care that we have herpes and go around acting like we don’t have it and giving it to others. But what I do mean by not being bothered is that in our day-to-day lives it doesn’t cross our mind and when we disclose that we have herpes (to potential lovers or otherwise), that comes from a place of care and openness, not from a place of shame.
