Doctor answers questions about genital herpes

EmmaLynn__Xx

  • Emma - I walked in the doctors off exactly a year ago and was tested for herpes, a few days later I was diagnosed. It has taken me a year to finally be okay, and I had my first disclosure this past Friday. It forced me to acknowledge the fact that its real and I can't continue to hide from it anymore. Disclosing to my partner was the best thing I've done second to my children. Hardest thing I'll ever do in my life, but it was worth it. It took me ten months before I got the courage to share it with him. It gave him time to know me and gave me time to trust him. If you ever need anyone to talk to, feel free to email me ! We're all here for support, things all work out in the end !

  • Hi Emmalynn, how stressful this can be to not disclose to anyone. I guarantee you that someone in your area has it too. 1 out 5 women have it and 1 out 6 men have it. I believe. So there are more than a few in your area that has it. So try to rest assure you are not alone. Have you thought of calling a clinic in your area to see if they get other people with the same mini virus that is not life threatening. I guarantee you that probably about 20 - 25% have it.
