Oral and hsv2

My boyfriend and I both have hsv2, both newly diagnosed. Before we had a very active sex life non stop!! Just raw emotions and everything it was great! We broke up he got with a new chick and when they broke up he found out she gave him hsv2. Well we had a slip up because of me and I ended up getting it too. So my question is since we both have hsv2 am I able to give him oral? And since we both have it we don't have to use a condom right? I mean we can't get reinfected since we already have it, so is a condom needed? I know my questions are super basic but I've had it for like 2 months. Also is it bad that I'm not even upset about the whole thing? I think it may have helped that I did all the research when he was diagnosed that I wasn't so shocked about it but he felt so guilty. I knew the risks and I was fine with them to be with the man I love.

Yes, you can both perform oral on each other.....chances of either of you getting it orally is about 1%

It's my understanding that during this time when you're building antibodies, there is a small risk of acquiring it in a second location. Once you've got sufficient antibodies, which generally takes a few months, risk of acquiring it in a second location is rare. And oral HSV2 is especially uncommon. Even in HSV discordant relationships, risk of oral infection with HSV2 is very low.

This is what I learned... if you both have hsv-2 and not hsv-1, you're pretty much okay. However, if one of you have both hsv1 and hsv2, you can spread hsv1 to your partner. Makes sense?
