Old infection new outbreak

Recommended Posts

I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes, the doctor states I‎t was an old infection. Years ago I was tested and at that time they could not differentiate the I always had horrible outbreaks in my mouth and often suspected I‎t was herpes normally found on your genitals. However, that was all I ever had until last summer i this sore open in the typical place for this type, and at the time i honestly thought maybe I scratched myself in my sleep... however since then I have been diagnosed and have had 2 more outbreaks in the same spot. Now I suspect my boyfriend carries I‎t and maybe doesn’t even know, but I’m wondering if I‎t possible that this would explain the sudden outbreaks on my genitals when I never had them until recently even though it’s an old infection? i am just trying to figure this out
