Dodged a bullet... kinda

Met this guy online. He seemed nice. Went to comedy club on first date. Comedian made herpes joke. Date was great. Guy is so into me. I bring up the joke and made a discussion. Asked him if he was dating someone and the person was great and disclosed that they had herpes before they ever get intimate, what will be his reaction. He first said he felt like his health will be threatened. And later said if you have herpes, you should date someone with herpes. I was floored. So I told him it was a hypothetical situation and went on to educate him since it appeared that he was a bit ignorant about the topic. He is still so into me and I find it funny how he is going to miss out on an awesome person like me based on his answer to my question. . I am going on a second date already but I will be breaking it off. This goes to show how we should prepare ourselves for rejection and still be very confident in who we are. Herpes doesn't define me. It's his loss and my gain!!

I recently read an article where the author had H. The theme of the article was that she found a silver lining in her herpes, in that she was able to see pretty quickly the character and level of acceptance of the men she was dating. The judgmental people get weeded out pretty quickly.
