Can't find direct answers for these questions. NEWBIE

Recommended Posts

I recently found out I am H+. Although, it is only through my IgM number (which I've read are unreliable).

1st test 1.11 and second 1.26.

My IGG numbers were very low (HSV1, .07; HSV2, .08). 2nd test (HSV1, .0100 ; HSV2, .06)

Also, these numbers were approx. a month after contact.

I've spent countless hours reading on the internet. However, I have some questions that I can't seem to find direct answers for online.

I understand it isn't airborne and it's skin to skin.

1. When a coldsore isn't present and someone drinks after you, what are the chances of transmitting the virus to them?

2. Can you give someone herpes through a cough, sneeze, runny nose?

I have a small child (nearly 2) and I have seen SO many posts that say they can only get genital herpes from sexual abuse. However, I've seen a ridiculous amount of posts saying that there child has acquired genital herpes.

How? Self-infection? Dirty hands (Coughing and sneezing)? Not washing your hands from using the restroom?

3. Any other advice/ not-to's for a mother of small child?

My ultimate concern is for my child.

Thanks!
