Diagnosed today.

Hi guys, I'm a 19 year old female. I had symptoms for about 5 days and finally decided to go get tested and was positive for HSV 2. I really don't know too much about the virus so figured I would join this community to have some support. I've told my close friends and they guy I've been involved with and they're all very supportive. This is my very first outbreak and the pain is unbearable. I literally cannot urinate without crying and walking and standing all day at work kills. What are some things to help with the pain? What kind of changes did you make to your diet when you found out?

Get on an antiviral, it will reduce the length of an outbreak and asymptomatic shedding. Outbreaks will become less as time goes on, the first is usually the worst. Most people have little or no symptoms, I've had HSV2 for 25 years and never knew I had it until 5 years ago. I've never had an outbreak.

It's not the end of the world, you are not a leper and your future sex life is not over.
