Signs, symptoms, and transmission

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm new here.

I wish I had known about this site when I first got my diagnosis, I have so many questions and would have loved to be able to talk to more people about it. Anyways, I have a couple of questions for the readers on here.

I've recently become sexually involved with a new partner whom I've disclosed my diagnosis to. We used a condom, however the next day I started getting the signs that an outbreak might be coming. (tingly, itchy, all of that) That was a couple of days ago and have yet to have an actual outbreak. I'm looking for someone who may have experienced the same situation, did your partner become infected, or was the condom effective in protecting your partner? I'm a female, and I know it's statistically harder for a man to become infected. I would think that because we used a condom and at no point did his bare skin come in contact with mine, except for maybe his actual pelvic area that the risk of him being infected would be really small. But I wanted to reach out and ask others with this experience.

I've experienced this exact same thing many times and no, I did not transmit. You can see my success story in veterans section. I have had tingling (possibly from nerves due to very heavy weight training) instead of H. I do get tingling a lot, but I discount it's from H as I have not had an ob in over a year and have not passed it on to my husband who does wear condoms! Hope this helps
