hv1 and oral

Hello all, my gf just found out she has herpes HV2 genital, and I have hv1 oral... is there any change i gave her herpes?

does the virus mute at all converting from HV1 to HV2 when is in contact with genital area? or remains the same hv1 and it wasn't me?

 

thanks for any info you can provide

If you have HSV1, you are only capable of transmitting HSV1. If she has HSV2, she contracted it from someone with HSV2. Location is of less importance here. The vast majority of HSV2 infections are genital, though there are exceptions. HSV1 infections are more likely to occur in a variety of locations. But they do not mutate from one to the other based on location.
