Does having HSV 1 really delay HSV2 antibodies???

Recommended Posts

sorry but this is really important Q

As u know i tested HSV1 positive, HSV2 negative 5 months post exposure

Im worried maybe HSV2 igg didn't develop yet cause of the presence of HSV1

Is 5 months enough for HSV2 to develop despite the presence of hsv1 antibodies ???

Terri Warren, a nurse practitioner and expert on herpes, has said that after 16 weeks, almost everyone infected with HSV2 will test positive on a blood test. So yes, you really are negative for HSV2. Having HSV1 antibodies does not change anything or affect the test results. I know you've been very worried. Now that you have conclusive and reliable test results, you can move forward.
