Confused and scared

I am a female college student and I found out I have herpes. I am so confused and unsure of everything, but most of all I feel so dirty. I don't know how to actually continue on like everything is alright and normal. My partner (I guess that's what you'd call him I don't know) has been a huge help and very supportive through it all, mostly because we both have it and neither is sure who passed it on to the other. I've been treated and the out break is gone, but I just don't know if I'll be able to have sex again. The pain I was in combined with seeing people on here say that sex can be a trigger scares me so much. I don't want to have another outbreak because I couldn't even make myself move and go to classes because of the pain.

Wait until your outbreak is completely gone before thinking about sex again then use lots of lube and you will be fine, I promise!

@Katidid my outbreak is completely gone, I went to my gynecologist last weekend and they ran tests and said that it was gone for now, but sadly the meds I was on also wiped out my good bacteria so I'm going to be uncomfortable for a few weeks till it comes back.

How about taking probiotics to help with the bacteria issue?

That's what they recommended, but I guess it'll still take a while. But I'm glad that's all that is wrong, I was so scared I was already having a second OB.
