Antiviral Study Conference Call Link

Recommended Posts

A while back there was a conference call here with a female doctor about an antiviral study she was part of. I've been trying to find the link to it and can't seem to locate it. I want to show it to my doctor because he won't put me on antivirals because I've never had symptoms. He's never read anything suggesting that antivirals reduce the risk of transfer from asymptomatic shedding and I need to educate him.

Hey Dave! I emailed you back on Oct 1, maybe it went into your junk folder? Anyway, is this the call you're referring to?

Well after a couple of months and getting my doctor to read some studies, he finally agreed to give me a prescription for Valacyclovir. He still doesn't think I need it, because I've never noticed an outbreak. But did say he believes it to be a safe drug and if it will help my peace of mind, then he has no problem prescribing it for me. I just think that reducing the odds, goes a long way in reassuring potential partners who have been mislead by the media, drug companies and peers, when in fact it really isn't a big deal.
