Jennifer Lawrence: "We all have herpes"

Hmm... I dunno what to make of this.

Should we just accept that the insignificance of having herpes is what makes it joke-worthy?

HIV "ravaged" the world and killed millions - continues to do so - yet herpes, despite its presence on Earth that dates back to pre-Human era, has not claimed one soul... Should the world that is being ravaged by this disease (according to J-Law) lighten up and take a joke?

Or should I have my press agent call up J-Law's press agent and have her straightened out?

What do you guys and dolls think?

I think she was maybe trying to de stigmatize herpes.

like making out with her co stars wasnt such a big deal cuz she didnt think the risk of getting or maybe passing hsv1 was a risk at all!?

Well, the discussion is about ORAL herpes ... and it makes several great points. Yes... the vast majority of people DO have Herpes ... 80% have it orally ... 15-20% have it genitally and many of them don't have it orally so that means that OVER 80% of people have herpes one way or another. So I think it's a call to "GET REAL FOLKS" ...

I think she's also pointing out that she isn't worried about who has it and who doesn't (at least not Oral HSV.).... and just by stating it, it helps people to THINK a bit more.

Yeah - she's being a bit cavalier ... perhaps she could have said it better, but it's obvious that for HER, herpes isn't a big deal. And I think that's a GOOD thing to have someone who is famous being ok with being out there about her stance.
