Ever wonder why 80% of people who have herpes don't know they have it?

"In order to gauge how information aversion affects health care, one group of researchers decided to look at how college students react to being tested for a sexually transmitted disease ..."

And the results are fascinating. It's proof of what's called "the ostrich effect." And it happens when we would rather stick our heads in the sand than be aware of our health status. This is exactly why the H Opportunity is all about waking you up to the facts so you can pull your head out of the sand, so you can love and be loved ... shamelessly. :)

The more we all pay attention to the facts of what is, the better prepared we are to live our lives, right?

Wow - so people are shown how bad it *might* get (who haven't had symptoms) but they'd rather not know ... I don't quite get the logic ... knowing or not knowing won't change the kind of OB you may get if it eventually flared up :/

We need to use the approach that to know would help them to protect others ... rather than focus on the physical issues associated with it :(
