Accepting and a little bit appreciative

Recommended Posts

I was diagnosed with HSV-2 back in February, and for the first time, I'm actually feeling a little bit appreciative of the virus. I use a dating site, and before my diagnosis, I was always getting messages from people that just wanted sex, while I wanted a real relationship. After I was diagnosed, I kind if isolated myself from dating and people in general, but I have recently gotten myself back into dating and social contact. I updated my profile to include my herpes status, and I have only gotten messages from people who admire my personality and respect my decision to disclose that I have herpes.

My quality of relationships has only gone up, and I don't have to worry about having the awkward herpes disclosure talk.

YAY! Another member who has put their info out there! I did the same thing about 6 months ago and like you, I'm only getting "positive" responses to my declaring my positive status....

It's a pretty simple way to cut to the chase and get all that awkward crap out of the way...and even those that were not necessarily interested in dating me would ask to become informed, and that can only be a good thing ;)

Welcome to the other side my friend!!!!
