New video: Herpes facts!

I made this video to help set the record straight about herpes. There's so much misinformation out there! With the facts solidly in front of us, most of the fear and false beliefs about what herpes means can start to fall away ...

@Adrial, what a great video! The stigma, fear, and ignorance of others regarding H needs to change. I just hope that one day more people will see and realize that H isn't as bad as society has made it out to be and that we are still people with feelings, dreams, goals, and a lot of love to give. Thank you for all you do and continue to do. You're AWESOME!!! Love this forum and the great support from everyone.

Adrial, thank you for this.

I am just about to have a talk with my daughter- she is just about to go off to college. At the tender age of 18 we think we're invincible, and it's important for her to understand that even with a condom she can't be 100% certain that she'll be protected. I'm going to share my experience with her, and thanks so much to the support of this beauty-full group of people, I've discovered the strength to do just that.

Thank you for the resources, and for being amazing!

Be strong, be well,

The other one that all the kids (and most adults) think is ok is Oral Sex.... she needs to at least ask if the guy knows he's had coldsores, (most likely won't get tested sadly) then if the answer is yes, she needs to proceed with caution ... unless she's had coldsores herself.... and the Gardasil shot does NOT protect her from everything (sadly most kids think it gives them a free pass for ALL HPV and HSV)

These talks can be a little awkward but better to be educated so she can *try* to avoid getting an STD ... the bottom line is she really needs to understand that the risk is ALWAYS there.... AND, even if she is on birth control, she needs to insist on a condom because my daughter is living proof that you can get pregnant while on BC ...

Good luck Mama ... :)
