My husband says herpes doesnt bother him, but I think it does

So since my husband an I both have beed told we have HSV, hes freaking out! He says no more oral which I understand that.. Ne sugg.? Hes sayin hes itchin all over afraid hes got it all over. Ne sugg to help him w/this problem.? I was freaked out but I didnt think I had it all over..

If you have a spa or hot tub it works wonders with the anxiety. A good massage works too. the itchin is in his head from paranoia. Tell him he has the chickenpox virus too but his immune system stops it from coming out so it will be the same with Hsv.

BTW the test means that he has been tested positive for the antibodies. He may never get OB.

He has had OB b4 he jus never kne what it was an didnt think he had it, I think he gave it toe which is fine, I dont love him ne less.

Then what he is feeling is guilt IMO. That will eat you alive. you need to go do something fun and start forgetting about it.

So he was diagnosed with HSV but you didn't way which one, or where he has it.

Odds are he's had it forever and he's just having the same knee-jerk reaction to his diagnosis as most have.

How's about getting him to get on here and let him ask his own questions? Getting him to see that he is not alone and will be fine from people who have had it for awhile may help him to calm down faster than you telling him.

And you say he says no oral sex? If he already has HSV1 orally, theres a really, really good chance he won't get it genitally. He already has the antibodies.... so his body will fight it off better.

I`ve tried gettin him on here.. Hes not feeling guilty, hes freakin out thinkin hes got it all over his body. He does have gential hetpes.. I think he has had it for awhile an never knew..

How is your Dr with regard to explaining that to him..that he has likely had if for awhile and noooo.... he doesn't have it all over...you need to get someone who can explain it to him to talk to him if he won't come on here...

I remember that when I was diagnosed I felt itch all over, also thought I've got it all over then I realized it was probably in my head and never felt it again. Our brain can do a lot of things. I hope you and your husband will be ok. xoxo
