HSV2 on Arm - A Few Questions...

Hi, I have been diagnosed with HSV2 but my outbreaks are on my arm I always keep them covered with bandages and they’ve gotten less frequent and less painful. My question is, while I’m having an outbreak on my arm but no symptoms on my genitals (I’ve never had genital symptoms and for the longest time thought this was shingles, long story) am I shedding vaginally or am I only contagious in the arm area where there are blisters? My doctor told me that I am fine to have sex as long as my arm is covered during a breakout but I have so much anxiety about this whole situation and would like to pose the question here, too. I am still trying to wrap my head around the test results and I have a lot of questions since my outbreak location is so strange. Any info would be much appreciated. Anything else I should know about my situation since it’s on my arm? Thank you!
